Sackville and Brunswick Street Halifax, Nova Scotia NS B3H 2Z3
Present day Halifax Citadel has been restored to its former Victorian era and serves as the nation's most favorite historic site. One of the fascinating feature inside the Citadel is the Town Clock, which has been ticking time since 1803! The "Soldier for a Day" experimental program by Citadel opens an opportunity for visitors to fire the rifles and wear kilt and bonnet of a soldier from the 78th Highland Regimen. Citadel's Tides of History theatre presentation brings the history of the old fort back to life as actors re-enact the exciting and thought-provoking stories of the olden days. Operated by Parks Canada, the Citadel National Historic Site is open year-round, and concludes a daily firing drill of the noon gun.
