WOW or World of WearableArt started in 1987, when plans of promoting a rural art gallery in Nelson came up. Sculptor Dame Suzie Moncrieff materialized an art exhibit in the form of a theatrical show. Over the years, WOW has been promoting and putting untapped talents of New Zealand in the limelight through annual shows held in Wellington. Garments exhibited at the World of WearableArt Gallery were showcased in the WOW Awards Show, allowing Nelsonians and visiting tourists to appreciate the "Mardi Gras meets Haute Couture" experience. Find several state-of-the-art exhibits that were heaved to complement the moving body.
