Although summer is the most popular time to visit, Los Angeles has great weather all year round. We'll let you decide with our guide to the different seasons in Los Angeles.
Watch out for the “June Gloom”, a weather phenomenon that occurs in late spring to early summer. This brings in cloudy skies, plenty of fog and low temperature, and unfortunately, it could rain. Although it can last until July, the heat quickly returns in August. Make sure you have a hat and plenty of sunscreen, as well as a light jacket in case the gloom strikes back.
The great weather continues in September and October, with clear skies and just a hint of the smog. The evenings can also get cooler, so make sure you have some warm clothes packed. November still has sunny days, however there will be some rainfall so bring your rain jacket and warm clothing. We'll help you prepare with A Guide To Packing For Your US Self-Drive Holiday.
Don't worry; it doesn't snow in Los Angeles. There is plenty of rain though. Tourists tend to come in droves during December. If you are coming during the holidays, make sure you've pre-booked your accommodations and motorhome rental. January and February have the most rainfall, so pack a rain jacket and warm clothes for the evening.
The rain continues in March and April. Although there are a few sunny days, early Spring has cool days and evenings. Prepare yourself with a rain jacket and warm clothing. It is drier in May, although the smog can return with the gloom.
