We have prepared some tips on what to bring for your self-drive holiday to the US, as well as a Camping Checklist so you don't forget a single item.
The weather in the US is somehow predictable. You can expect warm summer days in California and windy autumn afternoons in Chicago. However, things can change in an instant, so make sure you are prepared for this. Pack a jacket or sweater and thick socks. You may not need it, but then again, you never know.
Although first aid kits are provided by RV hire companies, it is always best to bring your own bandages, analgesics and antibacterial creams.
Of course, we don't want you to use it while driving. However, a mobile phone ensures that you can contact the authorities or assistance in case of accidents or breakdowns.
Remember to pack your chargers for your mobile phone, tablets, camera, MP3 players etc. To be safe, make sure your chargers have their own adaptors so you can plug them into the campervan. Travel adaptors or travel converter kits would come in handy.
Most RVs have an exterior storage compartment, but for extra safety, you can store your bags under the seats. In this case, it would be best to use soft or collapsible luggage.
Keep in mind that the security bond for your RV rental would need to be charged from a credit card. You can use cash for other expenses, but you will present a credit card for the bond upon vehicle pick up. Don't leave home without it.
Same for the pillows, sheets and blankets. Motorhome rental operators understand that you might be coming from overseas and offer these for free or for a small fee.
Most of our RV operators in the US also want to make sure you don't have to worry about too many things, so they've included camping essentials like picnic chairs, GPS and portable heaters to their packages. Start looking for the perfect motorhome for your holiday with USA RV Rental. And Now, The Camping Checklist. Print it out for when you're doing your packing so you have everything you'll need for a great self-drive adventure.
