Summer holidays are in mid-December until late January. Students also get two weeks off per term, in early April, late June and late September.
In South Australia, the Queen's birthday is celebrated on the second Monday of June while Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of October. Easter Saturday is also observed. Read more on special holidays in Australian Public Holidays.

March is still quite warm, but the weather becomes more pleasant in April. May gets some rainfall, so bring a rain jacket and some warm clothing for the cool Autumn nights.
June is the wettest month, getting the most rainfall in the year. July and August are not far behind, so make sure you bring a rain jacket and lots of warm clothes for Winter.
There will still be plenty of rain in September, although the skies may begin to clear in October. The heat returns in November. Spring has great weather for outdoor activities, but you'll need sunscreen to beat the heat.
