Fortescue Bay Camping Ground is in the Tasman National Park in Tasmania’s south east. National Park entry fees apply. Fortescue Bay is a secluded bay on the Tasman Peninsula in the beautiful Tasman National Park. Explore the spectacular cliff-edged coastal scenery and bushwalks of the area, fish, boat and snorkel in the calm waters. Drive nearby to pristine silver beaches pounded by wild surf, more wonderful coastal walks and fascinating convict ruins.
There are 41 campsites. The camping area has been developed mainly for tent camping but with provision for a small number of campervans. There are clean toilets, fresh cold water and a token-operated shower. There are also fireplaces with firewood for sale. There are gas barbeques in the day use area.
Visitors should bring all provisions as there are no shops or power in the area. Rates are on a per site per night basis. Bookings are essential.
There are good restaurants, bakeries and shops a short drive away at Port Arthur. Fortescue Bay is well located to access the Tasman Peninsula’s many natural and historic attractions: Port Arthur Historic Site, Remarkable Caves, Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Saltwater River Coal Mines, native wildlife at the Tasmanian Devil Park.
