Curtis Drive Scamander, Tasmania 7215
Scamander is ideally positioned for fantastic day trips under one hour. Visit the St. Columba Falls and the pub in the paddock at Pyengana, and the Pyengana Dairy/Cheese factory. The Douglas–Apsley Park is a short drive south to see the beautiful Oyster Bay pines, eucalypts and flowing rivers. A short drive to St. Marys to the farmlands and forest of the Fingal Valley, Binalong Bay and Bay of Fires conservation areas.
Return to the Park and enjoy over 50ha of bush-land and water ponds that meander through the property onto Winifred Curtis Reserve. Stroll through the tracks to one kilometre private beach front entry onto Steele Beach. An excellent surf beach all year round. Enjoy the magnificent birdlife and native wildlife. Scamander Sanctuary Caravan Park also run Storm Rider boat charters. Scamander is a one hour and 50 minute drive (146 kilometres / 91 miles ) East of Launceston.
Scamander Sanctuary Caravan Park offers accommodation on Tasmania’s East-Coast. Available are six tent style bungalows, fully self-contained with full ensuite, timber decking and serene bush setting views. Queen beds with all innerspring mattresses, refrigerator, TV/DVD microwave, toaster, jug all with crockery is provided. Powered and unpowered campsites are also available.
