Anderson Inlet is amazingly shallow and has been described as probably the most dynamic estuary in the State. It is constantly changing. At low tide its extensive sandy bottom is exposed, providing a veritable banquet for the many species of waterbirds. The tidal waters of the Tarwin River estuary softly ebb and flow in contrast to the pounding swell of Bass Strait. It is this combination of the gentle estuary and the excitement of the surf that makes Inverloch such a popular destination for people of all ages and water sports haven.
