Perth, Western Australia 6161
There are three ferry options to get to The Rottnest Island. One is from the port at Barack Street in Perth, the other is in the north of Perth at Hillarys Boat Harbour and Fremantle if you are coming from the southern side of Perth. By the time you step foot at Rottnest, you may learn to call it "Rotto" often used by many locals, and undoubtly the easiest way to call it. The island is an entire attraction, comprising 14 awesome beaches, what more if you count the lakes and some other bays? But Rotto isn't only best in coastal, its inland is also terrific. Quokka, popularly associated with Rotto, is like a wallaby, its also like a rat, only stocky and bigger about the size of a cat. Quokkas are human friendly and there will never be a day that you will miss them, they are literally everywhere in Rottnest. Although it is irrisistible but if you want to skip the beach for one day, the train ride could keep the day scenic and relaxing. Although it's an island away from the amenities of a modern city, there are general stores to supply the needs of its visitors, not too costly so there's no need to stock your luggage with foods. Be prepared to extend your stay though, Rotto is quite irrisistible.
Admission Fees range from $5.50 up to $45.50.
