It can get very hot during summer (between December to February), and hot days can build up to major thunderstorms. If you are traveling during these dates, make sure you pack a rain jacket. Summer holidays are usually between the third week of December to the third week of January. Students get two weeks off per term, in early April, late June and late September.
In Queensland, the Queen's Birthday is celebrated on the first weekend of October while Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of May. Easter Sunday is also observed.

Tourists will probably be looking forward to spending their holidays in Brisbane in December, but watch out for high humidity and plenty of rainfall during the summer months of January and February. If you wish to brave the heat and thunderstorms, make sure you have a rain jacket to go with your hats and sunscreen.
There might still be high temperatures and rainfall in March, but you can look forward to cooler climes in April and May. Just remember that cooler doesn't mean less rainfall so prepare yourself with a rain jacket and warm clothes for the evenings.
The humidity is much lower in June as Winter comes in. July and August usually gets scattered rainfall, but the days are pleasantly warm. It can still get quite cool in the evenings, so pack several warm clothing.
You can look forward to great festivals in September and great camping weather in October and November. Spring brings in busloads of tourists, so make early reservations on the motorhome for your self-drive holiday as well as your stay at campgrounds.
